Fort Carson Lockdown Today, Police respond to shooting threat in Fort Carson, Colorado

Officials at Fort Carson confirmed that the installation was placed under lockdown early this morning, after a vehicle reportedly failed to stop at one of the base’s controlled‑access gates. At approximately 5:30 a.m., a vehicle moving inbound through a gate refused commands to halt, prompting base security to shut down all entrances as a precaution.

During the lockdown, all gate operations were suspended; no injuries were reported, and there was no damage to base infrastructure. By about 7:30 a.m., authorities announced that gate operations had resumed, indicating the situation had been resolved without signs of violence or further threat.

Base officials stressed that this response was a precautionary security measure, common protocol when unidentified vehicles fail to comply at access points. They thanked the community for their patience and reiterated that the safety of personnel is their top priority.
